I often have trouble finding foods I can eat at restaurants. Some items are ok, in small amounts. Dairy for example.
But eating too much of a "forbidden food" gives me stomach trouble, migraines, knocks me out, or causes an allergic reaction.
The list of foods I can eat is much shorter than those I cannot. Luckily Trader Joe's stocks a lot of the specialty foods I need. Rice pasta, trail mix minus peanuts, oat flour, frozen curry dinners and so on.
Unfortunately I have not adjusted very happily to my new eating regimen.
Most of my favorite foods are now forbidden.
And sometimes, despite the following migraines and exhaustion, I'll eat forbidden foods. Because they taste so good. And rice gets very, very boring.
It is a frustrating issue. A balanced diet improves health, but it is difficult to create a balanced diet and avoid many basic and common ingredients rumored to aggravate Fibromyalgia.
Poisonous Nightshade plants are often recommended as foods to avoid.

Also Prohibited: caffeine, alcohol, and chocolate.
This, of course, makes me very sad. But one must eat.
If anyone suffers from Fibromyalgia or has a restrictive diet, I am curious about recipes which make boring food interesting. Feel free to comment.
ps
Odd food to trigger migraines for me: bananas
